Faded Memories I was just browsing down memory lane and a google search brought me to the Hemonites website.I was delighted to see how well the site has been established. I was a student at Mount Hermon Convent in 1955-56 when I was 7 years old. My memories are very dim .I do recell with fondness the way i was looked after by the Nuns and senior girls. If I am not wrong ,at the time the school was a Convent for girls and only boys under 10 were allowed. I remember the views of Kanchenjunga, sports day in 1955 when Tenzing Norgay was the Guest of Honour. I remember trips to Darjeeling ,especially the museum. I remember playing in the tea estates. all my life I have been geateful to Mount Hermon for the strong foundation given to me in the English language , which has carried my through my later education in Pakistan and subsequently in Canada where i now live. I wish well to all at Mount Hermon who have nourished the young of India. Asghar Mehdi Montreal ,Canada May 2004 By : Asghar Mehdi Graduated : At age 8 in 1955 Date : 3/5/2004 18:20 |
